Peter Sagan’s Bike…
Let’s talk about Peter Sagan. I swear, this guy has two personalities. ON the bike, at a race, he’s so terrifying it feels as if he could bite the head off a kitten. OFF the bike, he’s a playful chap with a sparkle in his eyes. He LOVES his dog almost as much as he loves his wife. (And trust me, we’ve never seen anyone more in love!)
Now, let’s talk about the Tour de France. What is that? Something with bikes? Yes. Probably french too? Yes. The amount of times I’ve heard someone talk about the Tour de France, as if they just finished the actual bike race, is beyond infinity. So, to make sure you are a Tour de France expert at your next backyard bbq, we’ve come up with some know-it-all facts about the Tour de France. Ready? Okay, here we go!
1) The amount of calories burned per cyclist is about 6,000 which is the equivalent of eating 140 pieces of bacon… or 2 thanksgiving dinners.
2) In the 20’s, believing that smoking “opened the lungs,” riders generously shared cigarettes
3) France has had 36 wins- more than any other country (surprise, surprise)
