The Eiffel was YELLOW!

I’m sure you have all seen the Eiffel Tower or may have even found yourself playing the dutiful tourist under it’s iron glory. You know what we’re talking about….that grand stature, standing in what seems to be the center of Paris, surrounded by an ever growing crowd of onlookers.
In approximately 1899, the Eiffel was painted yellow. I know, I know, it sounds like I’m joking, but trust me, I know my history about this iron goddess. During its 129 year history, it’s displayed multiple shades of red, brown and yellow. Since 1968, it’s been brown. The reason? Experts feel that it now matches the beauty and landscape of Paris. 5 more Eiffel Tower fun facts…
1. Gustav Eiffel was told to build the Eiffel Tower to last only 20yrs. He ignored authorities & built his vision.
2. During WWII, Hitler ordered German soldiers to destroy it. His German soldiers said no!
3. The Eiffel Tower is painted in 3 shades of Chestnut Brown. The paint color is a lighter shade as it rises to create a sexy silhouette.
4. Gustav installed a lab atop the Eiffel Tower for his scientist friends to use for astronomy, meteorology, physics and aerodynamics.
5. Ten years after completion of the Eiffel Tower, Gustav installed a wind tunnel. The tunnel was used to conduct tests on the Wright Brothers airplanes & Porche automobiles.
