IRELAND HIKING the KERRY WAY…
The Irish are some of the friendliest people we’ve met anywhere in the world. On top of that they have a special affection for Americans. They see us as their kindred spirit of long distance family.
Ireland offers something for everyone from hiking, jig dancing to pub dining, falconry to sheepherding. The offerings of experiences are as diverse as they are deep. Yes, you’ll have the opportunity to experience all of it.
We’ll explore Ireland from a close-up perspective…on foot. This gives you the opportunity to meet locals daily. Oh, did we mention that the Irish love to say hello, have a quick chat, offer a snack and get back on the trail? Ireland is a hiking lovers paradise with sweeping views, doable trails for all levels and quaint inns.
Getting up close and personal with locals, whether it’s meeting a farmer or learning the art of falconry is what makes Ireland outstanding.
We’ll meet farmers, sheep herders, local talent and even the national Irish jig dance coach. After all, if we want to eat and drink at the local pubs it’s important to know a few dance steps to get friendly with the Irish locals.
Join us for a week of kinship and walking on the Kerry Way and other classic trails. This trip is a bit unusual from our other trips in that we’ll be walking most days from lodging to lodging. We’ll have your luggage transported for you, a hot shower when you arrive, delicious homemade meals on the table and an experience unlike any other that we offer. We’ll take time to see some of Ring of Kerry, test the local ice cream, enjoy a time on the water and pie on the trail. Our favorite towns and visit include Kilarny and Kenmare.
LODGING: We’ll be staying on the Kerry Way Trail at family run inns, sheep farms and will finish at a 5-star hotel complete with spa, heated pool, bar and outstanding views.
HIKING: 7 – 15 miles per day; hilly; stunning views, authentic experiences

Nestled on the shores of Ireland’s finest vista, with spectacular sweeping outlooks across the lakes, mountains, gardens and national parkland, the hotel is set like a jewel in the region’s crown. This is where the magnificent scenery of Co. Kerry’s MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range is reflected in the waters of Killarney’s largest lake, Loch Léin.
